Trudy Kerperien is National Board Member and International Secretary of the General Union for Education (AOb). The AOb is the largest trade union in the Dutch education sector and the oldest trade union in the Netherlands. It is the Education Union of the FNV and affiliated to Education International (EI) and the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE). As representative of the AOb, Trudy is president of the Global Campaign for Education and involved in numerous coalitions and programmes for the eradication of child labour, such as the Stop Child Labour Coalition and the Work No Child’s Business Alliance. She has many years of practical experience in achieving better access to and improvement of the quality of education to prevent and eliminate child labour, and to break the poverty cycle. In this capacity, she works together with education unions, NGO’s, governments and companies in countries where child labour prevails.
